2022 Pusey House Theological Conference

“Descent of the Dove: Knowing and Loving in Spirit and Truth” is a theological conference that will consider the person and work of the Holy Spirit, and the inevitable transformation which any knowledge of, faith in, or encounter with, the Holy Spirit both invites and enables. The conference will be held at Pusey House, a chaplaincy located in the heart of Oxford founded as “house of sacred learning” dedicated to the memory of the Rev. Professor E. B. Pusey, Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Oxford. Drawing on the tradition of renewal that inspired the Oxford Movement, the House is a place where theological study is encouraged alongside a community of worship and prayer, seeking to build up a community where a lively and reasonable faith is nourished by the beauty of the liturgy to form disciples in Christ for service in the Church and in the world. In this spirit, the conference will gather theologians, pastors, and laypeople to ponder how the Holy Spirit might stir, direct, and renew churches in the coming years.
