Edwidge Danticat es autora de varios libros, entre los que se incluyen: Breath, Eyes, Memory —seleccionado por el club de lectura Oprah Book Club—, Krik? Krak!—finalista del concurso literario National Book Award—, The Farming of Bones, The Dew Breaker, Create Dangerously y Claire of the Sea Light. Además, es editora de The Butterfly’s Way: Voices from the Haitian Dyaspora in the United States, Best American Essays 2011, Haiti Noir y Haiti Noir 2. Ha escrito seis libros para niños y jóvenes: Anacaona, Behind the Mountains, Eight Days, The Last Mapou, Mama’s Nightingale, Untwine; y una narrativa de viajes, After the Dance. Sus memorias, del título Brother, I’m Dying, fue finalista del National Book Award en 2007 y ganó el premio en la categoría de autobiografía del National Book Critics Circle Award. Ganó, en 2009, la Beca MacArthur.
