A. E. (Alicia) Stallings grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and studied classics at the University of Georgia and Oxford University. Her poetry collection Like(2018) was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and her collection Olives(2012) was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award. Her poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry anthologies. Influenced by classical authors, she translated the pseudo-Homeric The Battle Between the Frogs and the Mice, and recently published Frieze Frame, a book on Elgin, the poets, and the Parthenon.
