John Fechtel is a trained architect who now works as a product designer, making tools for architects and engineers. He lives in Gainesville, Florida, with his wife and two children. His writings on nature, culture, and technology have appeared in The Hedgehog Review, The New Atlantis, Front Porch Republic, and his own Substack, Nature/Culture.
