
Geert “Ger” Koopman, was born in Groningen, Holland, in 1912. He and his wife, Maria, joined the Bruderhof community in England after World War II. They had seven children. Koopman wrote many short stories, including “The Chess Player,” published in Home for Christmas (Plough, 2002), and “The King and Death,” published in Easter Stories (Plough, 2014). He died in 1983.
