Georg Johannes Gick (1910–1985) was born in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, and grew up in Amberg. In 1937 he moved to Munich, where he taught elementary school and served as a school principal from 1956 to 1972. He wrote two songbooks and was the co-editor of a magazine, Welt der Schule. His poems were written in the Bavarian dialect.
