CheckoutJesus of Nazareth reminds his disciples that we have a ministry beyond the church; we are to be “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). But how are Christians to serve and minister to the world? What practical matters must be attended to so that we can follow Jesus’ teachings?
A provocative vision for the ministry of the church in the world has been proposed by Rod Dreher in his recent book The Benedict Option. Drawing on the historical witness of Benedict of Nursia, Dreher proposes several strategies for the church to minister in the midst of the world.
