Gabrielle Thomas is Assistant Professor of Early Christianity and Anglican Studies at Emory University. Prior to that, she taught at Yale University and at Durham University. Her books include The Image of God in the Theology of Gregory of Nazianzus (Cambridge University Press, 2019), the edited collection on Women and Ordination in the Orthodox Church – Explorations in Theology and Practice (2020), and For the Good of the Church: Unity, Theology, and Women (SCM Press, 2021). Her book on the devil in fourth-century Christian theology, The Problem of the Devil in Cappadocian Thought, is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2026.
