Plough Publishing Internship

Are you interested in first-hand experience in publishing, improving your writing and editing skills, living in community, and working with your hands on the land?

You can do it all next summer. Intern at Plough and participate in the daily life of a Christian intentional community.

What’s involved?

  • Develop skill in writing, editing, graphic design, fact checking, proofreading, marketing, and advertising. Receive time and coaching to write an article for Plough.
  • Room and board provided (You will be hosted by a Bruderhof family.)
  • Practical experience helping out in our woodshop or vegetable garden (We grow our food.)
  • Fellowship, prayer, and discussion in group gatherings and personal time in nature
  • 4-week commitment

What is Plough?

Plough publishes Plough Quarterly, a magazine of stories, ideas, and culture to help readers put their faith into practice and apply the teachings of Jesus in today’s world. We also host events and publish books on social issues and the spiritual life. Core staff are members of the Bruderhof community.

What is the Bruderhof?

The Bruderhof is an international communal movement of families and single people seeking to follow Jesus together. Inspired by the first Christians as described in Acts 2 and 4, we share our income, possessions, talents and lives. We base our life together on Jesus’ teachings, especially the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5–7).

Who is eligible?

If you are 18 or older, currently enrolled in a college or university, and committed to a Christian faith and walk of life, we invite you to apply.

The 2020 summer internship will run from May 17 to June 13. If you are unable to participate then, please inquire; we may be able to accommodate your schedule.
