Why We’re Still Talking about the Sermon on the Mount

As a central text for what it means to live as a Christian, Jesus of Nazareth’s Sermon on the Mount is no less relevant today than it was 2000 years ago. At this event, a panel of scholars (biblical, ethical, and theological) will reflect on the contemporary significance of Jesus’ teachings. Attendees will be invited to engage this topic with the speakers. The evening will conclude with a complimentary reception of drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

This event is sponsored by the Bruderhof and Plough Publishing House, founded in Germany in 1920 by pastor, theologian, and anti-Nazi dissident, Eberhard Arnold. The event will also introduce a new series of books by Eberhard Arnold, a dedicated website, and an associated research grant.
