352 pages
Selections from the world’s greatest spiritual writers provide inspiration for the most widely-celebrated holiday of the year. Writers include: Johann Christoph Arnold, C.S. Lewis, Thomas Merton, Philip Yancey, Madeleine L'Engle, Henri Nouwen, Kathleen Norris, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Annie Dillard, Dorothy Day, and many others.
Providing a break from the commercialized frenzy of the season, these daily Advent readings invite us to examine the deepest meaning of Christmas. Watch for the Light gives new meaning to the phrase “holiday preparations.”
“It’s hard to go wrong with writers such as these. . . Born of obvious passion and graced with superb writing, this collection is a welcome—even necessary—addition to glutted holiday bookshelves.” —Publishers Weekly

I love Watch for the Light and Bread and Wine...are there any others in this series...for ordinary time, for example? They are such helpful collections of readings! Love the size, shape and layout, too:)

Amy, you should take a look at Inner Words, another book of daily readings from Plough. - ed.
Watch for the Light was for me a wonderful approach to Advent. Each reading shed new light on familiar passages in a way that excites the mind and the heart and sets a specific goal for the season that transcends the world's approach. "Watch for the Light" is aptly named.
