All week long, New York newspapers have published articles celebrating gay marriage, with front-page photos of men (or women) kissing each other. Almost everyone appears to be rejoicing, but I wonder how happy these couples really are.
I would like to believe that they are happy, and yet I know that marital bliss can be attained only when God’s order – that is, marriage between one man and one woman – is adhered to. Such marriages were long considered to be the bedrock of civilization, but civilization as we know it is now doomed, because this foundation is being destroyed and redefined.
By declaring God’s laws irrelevant, we are sending a wrong message to our children. Instead of congratulating ourselves on being open-minded and tolerant, we should start worrying about the confusion and emotional trauma we are bestowing on our children and youth.
My family was expelled from Germany at a time when Hitler had perfected the art of propaganda. He knew that if you tell a lie often enough, it eventually becomes accepted as truth. This is exactly what happened in Germany, and it is happening in our country now. Lies are proclaimed as truth, and any opposing voice is silenced.
I pray that the many people in our country who still believe in right and wrong will have the courage to express themselves publically on this important issue. We need a national referendum to decide what direction we want for our future. And we need to pray for our children and youth, who are fast becoming confused.
Let us return to the time when our nation put its full trust in God. In the end, God’s truth cannot be silenced, and will be victorious.

I agree 100% with this article. It looks like as time goes by, more people go to the "other side". We need more men and women to support the institution of marriage given to us by our Creator.

While I agree with your concerns and sentiments, I'm not sure a "national referendum" is a solution. We will not escape God's judgement with a referendum, not as long as our hearts are secretly turned away from God. Only the turning of hearts, not laws, will be enough.
God's Great Peace and Blessings on you and the Bruderhof.

Es preocupante pensar sobre el futuro de nuestros hijos con estas "formas" de vida actuales, necesitamos mantener mucha comunicación con ellos creo yo en principio, y ante todo hacernos amigos de Dios.

I wanted to include this note as a follow-up in my last post about being cautious in how much time/devotion we spend in speaking out against this socio-political issue of Gay Marriage (aka, the legalization of sin).
What I was trying to say is that perhaps we as Christians would do well to be more concerned about preserving the purity of the gospel message rather than the purity of marriage. The gospel is a two-fold message of The Kingdom of God, and the The Cross. The effect of preaching this message is all-encompassing; and the repentance resulting in belief of this message delivers people from all kinds of demonic strongholds (of which homosexual lust is but one).

It's sad that a country founded on God is now turning its back on its roots. I agree entirely with this article, but unfortunately in our politically correct society voicing truths like this would be resoundingly condemned. As a father, I'm also disturbed about the moral values we are instilling in our children...you mentioned the pics of same sex couples plastered all over the media, but along the same vein, you have magazines openly proclaiming sexual frivolity being sold at the supermarket check out stand. The traditional family is being assailed, the bedrock of the house along with the church. I commend you for writing about this and being a voice of sanity in these times. The time is drawing nigh and I believe we are near the end.

Thank you for this article! It addresses a justifiable opinion - that the true Church should be held to defend what constitutes a godly marriage. However, the tone of several comments below - suggesting gay and lesbian people do not contribute to society - are grossly mis-informed, and this is simply an untruth which, when propagated by religious groups, does much to encourage hate crime against LGTB citizens.
...It's clearly not about liberating society to the point of lawlessness - but the legalisation of gay marriage has and will act as a landmark in a striking societal shift - from the purposeless persecution of minorities, to a wider acceptance of individual life decisions and 'rights'. The church and truly dedicated Christians - and it must be pointed out that these are increasingly becoming a minority in today's society - would do well to appreciate this trend as it means greater freedom of speech and choice for themselves - a situation not to be taken for granted (keeping in mind the persecution that many Christians have faced over many centuries, for example the Early Christians).

Thanks for the articles. In fact, we need to clearly know that so many people are clearly in constant bondage and predictable ending. The things they once cherish and protect have now become a rag in a pit of clay. How can a rational being legalise homosexualism; any man of such must have lost everything that matters to the mind, soul and spirit, and he is now an empty carcass wore by the devil to perpetrate nonsense. GOD have mercy.
