Bible Study with Merrill Mow
Merrill Mow (1928-1987) had a fascination and a love for Bible history, nurtured by his parents and stimulated by his professors at seminary in the late 1940s.
Merrill was born in India to Baxter and Anna Mow, who were missionaries with the Church of the Brethren, and he grew up speaking the local Indian dialect. When Merrill was eleven, the family returned to Chicago. He attended Manchester College, where he met Kathy, and then entered Bethany Seminary. He and Kathy were married in 1952. In 1954 Merrill and Kathy were the first guests to arrive in Woodcrest, at that time a new Bruderhof community in the United States. Merrill was asked to be a pastor in 1967. Towards the end of his life he taught inspiring weekly Bible study classes to elementary school students. His students and family have worked on preparing these short Bible studies for future generations.
